Made for Maltese homes
Our story
One diffuser, three scents, and a van. This is why we build it this way, and why we bring it to you ourselves.
We started with a complaint, not an idea
The complaint was this: you can furnish a beautiful home in Malta, and still not be able to buy a decent diffuser without waiting nine days for a box from abroad, or settling for something plastic from a shelf between the batteries and the phone chargers.
Everything good seemed to be somewhere else. Everything nearby seemed to be a compromise. So we made the thing we wanted, and then we made the shop we wished existed to sell it.
What we make
One diffuser. Three scents. That is the entire catalogue, and it is deliberate.
A diffuser is an object that sits in your eyeline every day for years. It should look like it was chosen, not like it was ordered. Ours is hand-finished ceramic in a single chalk glaze — no gloss plastic, no colour-cycling lights, no logo shouting across the room. It is quiet in every sense. When it is off, it reads as a piece of pottery.
The three scents are named for places on this island, because they were built for rooms on this island. Bajja is the sea in the morning. Ġnien is a walled garden in April. Xlokk is warm wood and dry stone after a long afternoon. We describe rooms, not moods, and never bodies. What a scent does to you is your business, not our marketing.
Why we deliver it ourselves
Because it is the only part of the experience most brands give away, and it is the part customers actually remember.
Anyone can run ads on Instagram. Anyone can list a product. What almost nobody selling into Malta can do is knock on your door the same evening you ordered, hand you the box, wait while you open it if you want to, take payment in cash if that is what you prefer, and come back next week to swap a scent because the first one was not quite right.
That is not a logistics feature. It is the whole company. We designed the pricing around it, the packaging around it, the return policy around it. If we ever grow to the point where we cannot do it, we will have grown the wrong way.
What we believe
Small is a strategy, not a stage
We are not building a marketplace. We do not want a thousand products. A short catalogue means we know every item well enough to tell you honestly when one of them is not right for you.
Nobody should have to trust us blindly
Cash on delivery, thirty-day returns, doorstep exchanges and a real phone number are not generosity. They are what a new brand owes the people who take a chance on it first.
A home is not a demographic
We are not making this for a lifestyle segment. Vagar Home is for anyone who likes their space to feel considered — in a farmhouse in Nadur, a flat in Gżira, an office in Birkirkara, a room a student is renting for a year.
The name
Vagar means unhurried. It is the pace we want the objects to set: not a scented candle bought in a rush, but something that quietly changes the temperature of a room every evening for years.
Slow down. Breathe in.
Where we are
The company imports through Portugal and holds its stock in Malta. Deliveries are made personally, across Malta and Gozo, by us. If you write to hello@vagarhome.com, the person who answers is the person who will be at your door.
