Shipping policy
The short version: we deliver Malta and Gozo ourselves. Not a courier, not a depot, not a tracking number that stops updating on a Friday. The person who packs your order is the person who knocks on your door.
What it costs
- €3.50 anywhere in Malta and Gozo.
- Free on orders of €35 or more.
- The same price for Gozo as for Sliema. No island surcharge, no remote-area surcharge, no fuel surcharge, no handling fee. The price you see at checkout is the price.
When it arrives
- Order before 14:00, Monday to Saturday: it is at your door the same evening, between 17:00 and 21:00.
- Order after 14:00: the next working evening, in the same window.
- Gozo: the next day, because we cross on a fixed run.
- Sundays and public holidays: we do not deliver, so your order goes out on the next working day.
We send you a WhatsApp message before we set off with a one-hour window, so you are not sitting at home for four hours waiting for a doorbell.
If you are not in
It happens. We will try twice more, free of charge, at times you choose. If you would rather we left it with a neighbour, a concierge, at a reception desk or behind a gate, tell us and we will, though from that point the parcel is at your risk. If we have made three attempts and have heard nothing from you for seven days, we will cancel the order and refund it, less the delivery charge.
Tell us how to find you
There is a note field in the basket, and it is not decoration. Flat number, which bell, the neighbour who is always in, the hours you are never home. The person reading that note is the person knocking. Malta addresses are difficult even for people who live here, and thirty seconds of typing saves everybody an evening.
Paying at the door
Cash on delivery is available across Malta and Gozo at no extra cost. Exact change is kind but not required. If you would rather pay by card or Apple Pay at the door instead, that is fine too, and if you have already paid online there is nothing to do but open the door.
Outside Malta and Gozo
We do not deliver anywhere else at the moment, and that is a deliberate decision rather than a limitation we are apologising for. The whole business is built on handing the box over ourselves. The moment we pass it to an international courier, everything that makes it worth buying from us instead of from a marketplace disappears. Risk and ownership
The goods are ours and at our risk until they are handed to you or to someone at the address you gave us. From that moment they are yours. Where you have asked us to leave a parcel unattended, risk passes when we leave it where you asked.
Stock
We make in small runs, and occasionally something sells out faster than we can restock it. If that happens after you have ordered, we will tell you the same day, give you a real date, and refund you in full immediately if you would rather not wait. We will never quietly hold your money and hope.
